BodyPrint Technology Turns Smartphones into Biometric Scanners

BodyPrint-Biometric-Scanners
Yahoo! don’t want you to every time type a PIN or swipe your phone or scan your thumbprint in order to unlock your smartphone. Instead, it only wants you to place your smartphone device on your ear in order to do that.

A new concept from Yahoo’s Research Labs is out that doesn’t focus on old fingerprint biometric scanners that are major form of biometric security on today’s smartphones, rather focuses on an idea of Bodyprint as the futuristic biometric security.A team of researchers from the Internet giant has developed a new biometric system called "Bodyprint," which is a much affordable alternative to fingerprint scanners for mobile phones.

What does Bodyprint scan?

Bodyprint, built by researchers Christian Holz, Senaka Buthpitiya, and Marius Knaust, is designed to utilize different body parts as biometric sensors for different cases, depending on how the users are using their phones.

As mentioned above, Bodyprint can recognize you from your ears, but it can also identify you from…
  • Your palm
  • The knuckles of a fist bump
  • Set of five fingers around the edge of the mobile screen when tightly holding the device
So now, you do not want to wait for giving an authentication by swiping the screen or scanning for fingerprints or typing PIN in order to answer the calls.

Just put your smartphone on your ear and let touchscreen sensor scans the shape of your ear, That is it.

If your ear prints match, the call will automatically be answered.

You can also use any of the above body divisions to lock your important documents and keep them safe from intruders.

The difference between Fingerprint system and Yahoo!’s Bodyprint system is no larger:
  • Instead of finger, Bodyprint would scan the shape of your ear
  • Instead of a fingerprint sensor, Bodyprint would use the Capacitive touchscreen displays your phone already has built-in.
Yes, it does not need any extra hardware for enrollment except a Capacitive Touchscreen.
"Unlocking your smartphone is something you do 150 times per day," said Christian Holz. "You want to make unlocking [your phone] convenient but also secure. That’s why fingerprint scanners are so successful."
However, other body parts can unlock your mobile phones in a fast and secure manner, he added.

Yahoo!’s Bodyprint is much more affordable than other fingerprint sensors:
BodyPrint Technology Turns Smartphones into Biometric Scanners
When compared to relatively expensive fingerprint sensors that have been deployed by major companies in their mobile phones, this new technology by Yahoo! is very much affordable that it could even be used on any cheap phone with a capacitive touchscreen.

However, displays have lower input resolution compared to other specialized sensors available in the market. Therefore, this biometric system requires you to use larger parts of your body.

Yahoo’s researchers are working to make this new concept a Reality:

Bodyprint was demonstrated at the 2015 Computer-Human Interaction Conference (CHI) in Seoul, South Korea this week. The technology was tested on 12 different people, and it accurately identified all the bodyprints and their owners 99.98% of the time.

However, researchers of Yahoo! plan to improve the recognition algorithms in Bodyprint and conduct their test on a wider scale before they deploy the Bodyprint biometric systems in commercial devices in near future.

How To Recover Site From Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update

How to recover site from Google Mobile Friendly Update or How to recover site or blog from Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update, or my blog penalize from Mobile Friendly update of Google Algorithm 2015, First Algorithm Mobile Friendly rolls out from 21 April 2015 and now many sites are penalized by this Google Algorithm Update.
As we know that Google trying to make their search result more responsive and also user friendly, As we know are many sites, not mobile friendly, Now Google trying to reduce these site in search result which are not mobile friendly, If your side hit by Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update and you wanna recover that then follow some useful tips and policies to get ride on Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update and make your blog Google Mobile Friendly.

How to Recover site from Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update

In the event, that your site or your customers’ sites are non-responsive, then you just have until April 21st, 2015 to make them portable inviting. On Tuesday 21st, if your destinations aren’t versatile cordial you can kiss farewell to Google web crawler rankings, and make proper acquaintance with customers slamming against the entryway requesting to know why their locals just dropped down to page 23.
Believe we’re overstating? Tragically not. Albeit nothing is sure concerning second think about what Google will do next, any reasonable person would agree that the hunt Goliath has dropped some strong insights about its next redesign. You thought the Penguin and Panda upgrades were terrible? This time Google is cautioning us ahead of time, giving apparatuses to get us prepared and publicizing the redesign; Google thinks this is going to bring about a significant shakeup.

Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update
What Has Google Said?

Back in February, Google didn’t so much drop a clue, as issue a plainly composed explanation in plain English of their proposition to punish any site that they don’t esteem to be versatile neighborly.
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.”
Also, if that wasn’t sufficiently clear, they included:
“This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact our search results.”
Obviously you’ve got your finger on the beat, you likely saw this nearing. Anyhow hey, we’re all occupied, possibly you haven’t got around to redesigning your site yet. Furthermore, who knew precisely what Google would consider to be versatile cordial?

Why is Google Making The Change?

Adoration Google, or detest it, you need to let it be known’s messages are reliable. Pessimistic musings about promoting income aside, the web crawler monster over and again expresses that it needs clients to have an awesome online experience. It expects or maybe requests that Web clients ought to have the capacity to effortlessly discover important, helpful substance, in light of a plainly characterized hunt.
The looming overhaul to Google’s calculation places more noteworthy accentuation on clients exploring effortlessly on a cell phone. Why? Since Web use cell phones has been rising strongly year on year. A pessimistic individual may propose that Google’s dedication to the versatile web is to a great extent because of the relative accomplishment of its Android system contrasted with its Chromium program, yet that would be an individual.
A month ago, at the SMX West gathering in California, boss draftsman of SEO Clarity, Mitul Gandhi, showed that 30% of natural movement from cell phones — and that information is legitimate over a scope of commercial ventures. Those details could even be on the traditionalist side; there’s a pile of information out there demonstrating that the rate of movement from cell phones is, sometimes, as high as 70%. We realize that the portable web is developing, if not exponentially, then surely quickly. In light of that certainty, Google’s choice appears to be reasonable and balance.

The Worst That Could Happen?

Taking Google at its assertion, any site that is regarded by their definition to not meet responsive measures will plunge in their rankings. Furthermore, on the grounds that a particular date has been given, could the change occur incidentally? Scarily the answer is by all accounts “yes”. Along these lines, despite the fact that a non-responsive site could in any case have all the earmarks of being helpful to an individual after April 21st, Googlebot will be neutral.
Does this imply that you need to make your site responsive? No, you don’t, and Google doesn’t need to rank you. Google is not the Web, but rather let’s be honest, neglecting to rank well on Google and thusly every other web search tool out there is not an extraordinary approach to yourself with customers, or to run a fruitful site. There are a few undeniable new limitations, and some that aren’t so self-evident: you can’t, for instance, use programming that isn’t normally found on cell phones, for example, Adobe Streak; you can’t show that can’t be perused without being zoomed; you can’t drive clients to parchment on a level ; you have to guarantee there’s satisfactory space between connections.
There are different outcomes that are harder to anticipate: for instance, a lot of promoters still utilizes the SWF arrangement, will facilitate SWF-construct adverts with respect to your site harm your rankings? We’ll need to sit tight for the impending weeks to discover.

What Should You Do

The uplifting news is, discovering whether to meet Google’s meaning of versatile inviting is simple. Suspecting the turmoil, Google has given a valuable device that will check the responsiveness of your site in seconds. Simply enter the URL of the site you wish to register with Google’s versatile amicable testing apparatus and cross your fingers. On the off chance that the site is responsive, Google offers you the go-ahead. If not it will let you know why not. You’ll additionally get some additional insight about how Googlebot sees your pages; the main sugar-covering comes as Google offers you a progression of connections disclosing how to take care of the issues particular to your site.

How resolve the google mobile friendly Update

Google is critical us is that a versatile cordial and portable responsive sites will be satisfied with the improved area in Google’s portable internet searcher results. And also in this way additional movement from a rapidly mounting client platform. In actuality, sites that are not portable agreeable will recognize a little sum versatile grungy activity, acknowledge a little bit of the getting higher versatile pie, and will be required to depend on a reducing desktop based location.
Google has been development walk out to recuperate versatile query items to detail the SERPS a prevalent position for clients intensive on cell phones and tablets. One of the supplementary topical reform have been displaying a versatile pending label, therefore to destinations in portable explore the results that have been built to put on a show in the endorsed technique on a versatile screen. In the event that gets to be mindful of an issue with your site in procurements of how its exhibit or how it occupation on versatile, ne composed to get an emails admonishing that your site may not position as battling fit in portable query items.he email will indicate which site and which pages the issues were getting to be mindful of one, from the beginning with ventures on the most proficient method to connect the issues. The email what’s more connections to accreditations on the best way to develop a CMS (like WordPress) versatile inviting. At the point when its versatile agreeable position foundation toward the end of last year it was pointed toward that it might be utilized as a positioning evidence for the investigate calculations in the desires.

Final verdict on Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update

Perchance there notices are a recommendation that Google be going to do pivot out a versatile benevolent calculation keep educated speedier than we all thought. Friends, this is very new update, maybe this article not complete and also need any suggestion then please tell us, Your most welcome if you will suggest any special suggestion to get rid on this mobile friendly update, Keep visiting our blog to get more about Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Update.

WhatsApp updates iOS App with Free Voice Calling Feature

WhatsApp updates iOS App with Free Voice Calling Feature
After rolling out WhatsApp’s Free Voice Calling feature for Android users late last month, the widely popular messaging service has started to roll out the feature to iOS users.

Now iOS users can enjoy making free voice calls through WhatsApp, as the new version of the messenger is now live in the iOS App Store with support to calling.

WhatsApp calling feature allows you to call your friends and family anywhere in the world for free as long as you have a Wi-Fi network or a working data plan on your registered number. The full description of the WhatsApp Calling feature on the App Store page reads:

"Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they are in another country. WhatsApp calls use your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes (Data charges may apply) Note: WhatsApp Calling is rolling out slowly over the next several weeks."

The last line indicates that the feature, so far, is not actually available for all iOS users, but rather will be available in “the next several weeks” when the new WhatsApp Calling reaches your iOS device.

Not just free voice calling, WhatsApp for iOS also adds some major updates to the messaging app. It comes with its sharing extension, which means now you can easily share links, photos and videos from within other apps directly to WhatsApp.

Moreover, WhatsApp tends to roll out other new features that include a "quick camera" button, which lets you quick access to the camera so that you can shoot and send videos and photos from within WhatsApp messages.

But honestly: Free Voice Calling is the real kicker.

You can download the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store now, however you will definitely have to be a little patient to wait for the messaging giant to switch the button ON for the free voice calls on your account.

So if, for example, you purchase a 3GB data plan for $30 in a g
Google has just launched its long-rumored wireless cellular service that comes up to give a tough competition for AT&T and Verizon communication.

Yes! A wireless Service for Cell Phone users.

The web Internet giant, Google is now becoming a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) by offering its wireless service.

Here's What we Need to Know:

1. Google’s MVNO service is named "Project Fi"
A new wireless cellular phone service, dubbed Project Fi, could help the web Internet giant gains new heights into the $189 Billion market of mobile industry.
2. The service starts at "$20 per Month."
For $20 a month, you will get unlimited calls and texting in your country along with Wireless tethering and International coverage in more than 120 countries.

The data pack is for an additional charges of $10 per GB of bandwidth consumed. Therefore, a $20 basic plan plus a $30 3GB plan would cost you a total of $50. International data is at the same price.

Check out for more data plans here.

3. Pay Only for the data You Use
The most interesting part of this service is that the company will refund you for data bandwidth you do not use every month on your next bill.
google-project-fi-wireless-network
So if, for example, you purchase a 3GB data plan for $30 in a given month, and you only consume 1.4GB of data bandwidth. Then the search engine giant will refund you back $16 in your next bill, instead of taking your entire money.

4. The service is Invite Only right now
Google is not launching Project Fi for everyone right now.

So, those who are interested can sign up on the Project Fi website and hope to be the lucky one. Request an invite at https://fi.google.com/.

5. The service combines Sprint and T-Mobile LTE networks
Google is not building its network of cell phone towers for Project Fi. Instead, it is piggybacking on the Sprint and T-Mobile LTE networks, which have agreed to carry the traffic for Google’s new project.

6. Project Fi works in most of the Country
This is how Google’s Coverage map currently looks like:

Go here to know whether your neighborhood is covered or not.

7. Switching between Cellular and Wi-Fi Networks seamlessly
Moreover, the service provides you to switch between cellular and Wi-Fi networks.

If, for example, you start a call using Wi-Fi and then move outside, your mobile phone will switch to the regular cellular network without dropping down your call.

8. You Need a Nexus 6 handset Only
For now, Project Fi only works on Google's flagship Android phone Nexus 6 with a special SIM card, but hopefully it will soon be available for other handsets.

So, in order to use the service right now, you'll have to buy Nexus 6 from Google (for $649) if you do not own one.

9. No Contracts
There are no long-term contracts, something other cell phone carriers are also moving away from.

However, if you buy and finance a Nexus 6 phone while signing up for Project Fi and then leave, the money owed on the phone will be due immediately.

10. Project Fi also works on Computers and Tablets
Yes! Not only on your mobile devices, but also the service works on your computer and tablet.

Google Hangouts allow you to place calls, send texts and voicemails from your number to any other Hangout-enabled device, no matter what device you are using.

Flipkart to shut down website within a year

Flipkart to shut down website within a year

Flipkart would move to an app-only format within a year, a senior executive said, confirming growing speculation that India's largest e-commerce platform would follow the route announced for unit Myntra.

"Last year, we had more on the app, but still did our web and desktop. In the next year or so, we're going to be only mobile," said Michael Adnani, vice-president, retail and head of brand alliances, Flipkart. "A year ago, 6% of our traffic was coming from mobile. In less than 18 months, that traffic is 10-fold. That shows the significance of what a mobile phone is doing for the consumers and consequently doing for us," he said.

As the rate of transactions mirrored that of traffic increase on the app, Flipkart's move to app-only platform makes sense, Adnani added. Flipkart has more than 40 million registered users and has about 30,000 merchants selling over 20 million products on the platform.

India is the third-largest internet market in the world with more than 243 million users, trailing China and the US in that order. Boston Consulting Group expects more than 580 million people in India to use the internet by 2018, 70-80% of them accessing the web on mobile phones.

Smartphones have also become far more affordable, compared with a couple of years ago, and 6-7 million of them being brought into India for local sale. Going by the numbers, an app's consumer reach will be larger than the mobile version of a website or the website itself.

Flipkart does about 8 million shipments a month, and two-thirds of its online traffic comes from users in small cities and towns. Flipkart's app-only direction assumes larger significance in these places where most people don't own desktop computers and have limited access to broadband.

Adnani said Myntra's growth on the app was higher than that of Flipkart, which led the online fashion retailer to decide to shut down its website and move all operations to its app starting May 1. Flipkart had acquired Myntra last year for Rs 2,000 crore.

Google To Speed Up The Internet With Its New QUIC Protocol

Quick-UDP-Internet-Connections-quic
Google is trying every effort to make the World Wide Web faster for Internet users.

The company has announced plans to propose its homemade networking protocol, called Quick UDP Internet Connections (QUIC), to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in order to make it the next-generation Internet standard.

Probably the term QUIC is new for you, but if you use Google’s Chrome browser then there are chances that you have used this network protocol already.

What is QUIC?

QUIC is a low-latency transport protocol for the modern Internet over UDP, an Internet protocol that is often used for streaming media, gaming and VoIP services.

The search engine giant first unveiled the experimental protocol QUIC and added it to Chrome Canary update in June 2013.

The protocol already included a variety of new features, but the key feature is that QUIC runs a stream multiplexing protocol on top of UDP instead of TCP.

The Idea behind QUIC:

QUIC was developed to speed up latency-sensitive web applications, such as search, by reducing the number of network round-trip time (RTT) that it takes in order to establish a connection to a server.
"The standard way to do secure web browsing involves communicating over TCP + TLS, which requires 2 to 3 round trips with a server to establish a secure connection before the browser can request the actual web page," Google's Chrome team wrote in a blog post.
"QUIC is designed so that if a client has talked to a given server before, it can start sending data without any round trips, which makes web pages load faster."
Here are some QUIC highlights:
  • Packet pacing to reduce packet loss
  • A pluggable congestion control mechanism
  • UDP transport to avoid TCP head-of-line blocking
  • High security similar to Transport Layer Service (TLS)
  • Packet error correction to reduce retransmission latency
  • A connection identifier to reduce reconnections for mobile clients
  • Fast (0-RTT) connectivity similar to TLS Snapstart combined with TCP Fast Open.
Here’s the Big Deal:

With the help of QUIC, Google aims to combine the best features of both UDP (User Datagram Protocol) and TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) with modern security tools with the goal of Zero-RTT connectivity overhead and better SPDY support.

SPDY is a networking protocol introduced by Google in 2009 and is recently being built into upcomingHTTP/2 (Hypertext Transfer Protocol version 2) protocol.
Quick-UDP-Internet-Connections
SPDY is also supported by some technologies including Google's own Chrome browser, Mozilla's Firefox, Microsoft's Internet Explorer 11, many websites such as Facebook, and some of the software that delivers Web pages to browsers.
"Today, roughly half of all requests from Chrome to Google servers are served over QUIC and we’re continuing to ramp up QUIC traffic, eventually making it the default transport from Google clients — both Chrome and mobile apps — to Google servers," Chrome team explained.
The search engine giant does not know how much faster QUIC would make Web surfing over the Internet, but ultimately its goal is to bring improvements to the web we are using today.

USB Defense: Stop Data Walking Out The Door

usb-security-software
The bad news is that internal data breaches are on the rise. And one of the biggest culprits? USB devices.

In the past few years, there has been many organizations tracking down the loss of sensitive/confidential information due to the usage of USB drives and other mass storage media. Cyber-security breaches and data theft are making more and more IT leaders paranoid about security than ever before.
Why are USB devices dangerous?
  • USB devices can hold a lot of information. For example, a 128 GB USB flash drive can store 60,000 photos, 20,000 songs, 100+ videos, and more. Just imagine how many protected corporate files could fit on one drive. Also, the storage capacity of USB devices is only going to increase.
  • USB devices are super portable. Some USB storage devices are the size of a small coin. This makes them very difficult to visually detect when plugged into an open port.
  • USB devices are cheap and easy to find. If you’re in the market for a USB storage device, there are some online for under $1.00 USD. Or if you don’t want to purchase one, just go to an expo. Plenty of companies are handing out branded USB flash drives these days. In short, nearly everyone has a USB storage device of some kind.
  • Data doesn’t always delete from a USB drive. In one study, they found that 85% of secondhand USB devices had recoverable information including personal identity information and confidential corporate information easily.
  • USB devices can directly carry malware. Inserting a device and executing or copying files could expose your network to unexpected malware.
What can an internal data breach result in?
The loss or theft of sensitive information is not limited to the realm of emails and contacts, but it can also extend to more sensitive information such as:
  • Loss of copy-righted information
  • Intellectual property data
  • Deviation from compliance regulations
  • Access codes and secure login credentials
All these severely impact the victim organizations in terms of financial and reputation loss. The 2014 Cost of Data Breach Study by the Ponemon Institute showed that the average cost to an organization who fell victim to a data breach was $3.5 million dollars.
What can you do about USB devices in your organization?
Here are some tips to ensure you keep your data protected on your network, servers, and workstations.
  • Establish policies about portable devices and educate employees about your policies
  • Set up access rules so only authorized employees have USB access
  • Ensure to remove sensitive information access from employees once the purpose of using the information is fulfilled
  • Do not leave old or unattended data on end-user systems
  • Monitor the log activity of all your enterprise workstations and USB endpoints
How can log management technology help?
Continuous log monitoring of your IT infrastructure will help collect logs from all your workstation endpoints and trigger real-time alerts to notify you of USB activity on the network. With automated incident response available in log management tools, it’s easier to take preventative action and automatically disable USB connection in real time.
USB Detection and Prevention with SolarWinds® Log & Event Manager
Need more control over monitoring USB devices connected to your network? SolarWinds Log & Event Manager software delivers an affordable, easy-to-use solution for monitoring USB devices to ensure your secure data stays that way.

Download a free, fully-functional trial, and in less than an hour you can be monitoring your network for USB device activity.

Lost Your Phone? Google Search 'Find My Phone' To Locate It

Google-Search-Find-My-Phone.png
How many of you have an issue to forget your mobile phones? I guess, most of us.

Sometimes in our homes, sometimes in our offices, sometimes in our cars and sometimes we even don’t remember the exact place where we left our phones.

Now, Finding your phone is as simple as searching something on Google...

Instead of searching your phone everywhere, just ask Google where your phone is, and the search engine giant will answer you the exact place where you left your smartphone.

Sound’s interesting!

Google unveiled a new feature on Wednesday that lets you search for your Android smartphone or tablet using the search engine on your desktop computer.

How does it work?
  • Log-in to the same Google account on your desktop computer’s browser that you use on your Android smartphone, but before that make sure you must have the latest version of the Google app installed on your smartphone.
  • Now type "Find my phone" into Google's search engine, and that’s it.
As soon as you press the enter button, Google will display a map that eventually shows you a location on the map that is accurate to a certain distance, as for example, the map showed me the location of my smartphone was accurate to 35 feet.

However, what if your phone is not visible to you?

Google also offers you a Ring button on the map in order to pinpoint your phone.

You just need to click on Ring icon and the search engine giant will ring your smartphone at full volume for up to five minutes. Moreover, once you hand on it, simply press the power button to turn off the ringing.

Not Google alone…

...a similar feature known as Android Device Manager can also help you locate and ring your Android devices. Also in case your Android device has been stolen, this feature helps you to factory reset your device remotely and reset the password if the device is recovered or erase its data.

Apple also offers a similar tracking feature, known as Find My iPhone, that helps iOS users to track down their missing iPhone or iPad, remotely locate its exact location by ringing, lock it and erase its data.

Google Launches Chrome 42 with Push Notifications

download-update-google-chrome
Google has finally rolled out the latest version of its popular web browser, i.e. Chrome 42 for Windows, Mac, and Linux users that now lets websites send you alerts, no matter your browser is open or not.

The release of the latest Chrome 42 version is a great deal as it costs Google more than $21,000.

Yes, $21,000!

The latest version of Chrome comes with fixes for 45 security vulnerabilities in the web browser, reported by different security researchers [listed below].Let's know about the Major updates:

Major updates and significant improvements for Chrome version 42 includes:
  • Advanced Push API and Notifications API
  • Disabled Oracle's Java plugin by default as well as other extensions that use NPAPI
  • Patched 45 security bugs and paid out more than $21,000
Push API:

Google includes Push API in its web browser for the first time. Push API, when combined with the new notifications API, allows websites to push notifications to you through your browser, even when the browser window is closed.

The Push API feature is an optional feature, which means that you can enable or disable it as per your need. This will offer users an app-like experience on the web.

What else?

Chrome 42 brings the end of official support for NPAPI ("Netscape Plugin API") by disabling old browser plugins by default that use NPAPI, including Oracle’s Java plugin and Silverlight.

However, if you really want this blocked plugin, you can manually enable NPAPI support in Chrome's settings. But, you’ll not enjoy NPAPI support for a long time as by September this year, Google will permanently remove this option.

Why Google want to vanish NPAPI?

The open-source project team has been trying to kill off NPAPI since 2013, describing NPAPI as a dangerous security and stability risk.

The search engine giant believes that by disallowing to run Java plugin would certainly reduce the possibility of the attack against its Chrome browser.

Google patches total 45 security holes in its Chrome Browser:

There were a number of high-severity vulnerabilities, including one known as Cross-origin bypass in the HTML parser. An anonymous security researcher was paid a reward of $7,500 from Google for this critical vulnerability.

The list of rest security bugs fixed in Chrome 42 for which Google paid rewards are:
  • CVE-2015-1236 (Medium): Cross-origin-bypass in Blink -- Reward $4000 to Amitay Dobo
  • CVE-2015-1237 (High): Use-after-free in IPC -- Reward $3000 to Khalil Zhani
  • CVE-2015-1238 (High): Out-of-bounds write in Skia -- Reward $2000 to cloudfuzzer
  • CVE-2015-1240 (Medium): Out-of-bounds read in WebGL -- Reward $1000 to w3bd3vil
  • CVE-2015-1241 (Medium): Tap-Jacking -- Reward $1000 to Phillip Moon and Matt Weston of Sandfield Information Systems
  • CVE-2015-1242 (High): Type confusion in V8 -- Reward $500 to fcole@onshape.com
  • CVE-2015-1244 (Medium): HSTS bypass in WebSockets -- Reward $500 to Mike Ruddy
  • CVE-2015-1245 (Medium): Use-after-free in PDFium -- Reward $500 to Khalil Zhani
  • CVE-2015-1246 (Medium): Out-of-bounds read in Blink -- Reward $500 to Atte Kettunen of OUSPG
  • CVE-2015-1247 (Medium): Scheme issues in OpenSearch -- Reward $500 to Jann Horn
  • CVE-2015-1248 (Medium): SafeBrowsing bypass -- Reward $500 to Vittorio Gambaletta (VittGam)
So, if I talk about the total cost Google spent in bug bounties to external security researchers who contributed reported bugs fixed in this latest version, its around $21,500 in total.

Let's Update Chrome 42:

You can now update this latest version, Chrome Version 42, using the browser’s built-in silent update or download it straight forward from google.com/chrome. Linux users need to install the Distro Package Manager.

Have you updated Chrome 42 already? Let us know your experience with Chrome 42 in the comment box below!
