Open Files Directly From Run Command With Only One Word

today going to tell you about the method by which you can run files directly from the run command like you open registry and command prompt from run.
Now let us assume that we want to open a file named everythinginall.gif present E drive by typing hello.jpg (you have to use extensions like .jpg or .gif while referring to files) in the run command then. It is advisable to make a registry backup before changing anything in it.
Here are the steps:
  1. Go to start => run and type regedit and clcik on ok.
  2. Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then SOFTWARE then click on Microsoft and then on Windows then on Current Version and finally click on App Paths now you will see something like this.
  3. Now right click on App Paths and then on new and select key and name it with the word by which you want to open the file. In our case we will use hello.jpg.
  4. Now on the right side double click on (Default) and change the value data with the path of the file. In our case it is E:\everythinginall.gif and click on ok.( Make sure the key is selected which you created just now before clicking on (Default). In our case hello.jpg should be selected)
  5. Now close the registry and go to start and then run and type the file name you set and click ok. In our case we will type hello.jpg in run command and then click ok. (Remember to always use extensions while referring to files else it will not work.)
Be carefull while using registry and follow the instructions only and do not change anything else because if you do something wrong in the registry then it may damage your windows.
Enjoy :)
