Before we begin, let me tell you my story. Last year, I brought my Macbook pro for under 50k INR. How?Well, I bought it from Amazon during diwali sale. The price was less at that time i.e. Rupees 57 thousands. Usually it’s Rs 60k. Plus Amazon was offering Rs 2000 gift card. Moreover there was SBI debit card offer, which added Rs 1500 cashback. So overall I saved around 7.5k.

Now most of you may be thinking, it was a steal deal. However it was not. I could have got it for much lesser price, if I hadn’t made a basic mistake. What was that ? Stick around till the end and you will find out.

Weather offline or online, a little research always give you a better deal. However doing research for online shopping becomes easier if you know the right tools.

Except Flipkart and Amazon, almost all others eCommerce websites offer coupons code.

Use a Cashbacks websites

Many website offers cashbacks on bank specific debit or credit cards. So if you spot these offer make use of them.

Remember, in the beginning of the post, I have said I could have get the Macbook for much cheaper. And the mistake I made was, buying too early. Just 2 days after I order my MBP, Flipkart launched it’s big billion sale, and guess what! the same MBP was sold for 49.5 k. Off course I could have more discount on this as well.

So moral of the story is, Always wait if you can. Until and unless you are getting exceptional deal, there is no harm in waiting. Online shopping is like share market, more you wait better deal you get.

Next time you shop online, find the websites that sell for least price. If there is place to apply coupons, Google it. Then purchase the product via cashback websites. And finally look for offers in the payment methods like bank offers on cards or cashback from paytm or payumoney etc.

If you follow all these tips and tricks than you can easily save 10-20% while shopping online. Always remember, there is always a way to get added discount, all you have to do is wait and do some research. Also if possible, wait for sales. They come in every 2-3 months.
